Summer Fashion: 5 Trends You Need To Try ASAP

Hey guys,

I hope you've been having a killer summer so far! It's almost August already and the time is slipping away fast so let's make the most of the time we have left and perhaps spend that time dressed to kill hehe! Today I wanted to share with you five affordable, stylish and easy trends that you can pull off for the remainder of this summer. I know I will be taking a few of these to Osheaga this summer! ;)

So let's begin!

1. THE BELT BAG

You can find them everywhere now! These bags are perfect for music festivals (hint hint Osheaga), going for a (very stylish) walk, and they are a particularly perfect statement accessory to have in your closet. My favorite part of owning a belt bag is that you can carry around all your essentials without having to carry a heavy bag on your shoulder or in your hands. Your hands are free!

Gucci started the trend off, but if you don't have $1,300 to dish out (as few of us do), here is an affordable option that won't break the bank and that looks just as cute!

Left: The GC Marmont matelassé leather belt bag

Right: The Pounce Belt bag by Aldo (also available in white, black, red and champagne) and only $40

2. THE SCARF AS A TOP

Not sure where this started or who started this, but its all over the internet now. Celebs, Influencers, YouTubers... many are hopping on this trend and posting tutorials on how to tie them and style them perfectly. The great thing about this trend is (1) a lot of people already have silk scarves in their closet and (2) if you don't, you can find cheap ones almost everywhere. I got mine for $4.95 at RW&CO, my friend bought one for $10 at a kiosk in a shopping mall and another friend of mine bought hers off Amazon for about $12.

If the trend is a little too revealing for you, throw a jacket over it! I personally wore it with a blazer, but a denim jacket or bomber looks super cute as well!

3. THE STRAW CROSS BODY BAG

This is the perfect summer accessory. I get asked all the time where I got mine. I got lucky and bought mine for $40 at Lisa Homsy's (huge travel blogger #goals) closet sale here in Montreal. But there are still other places you can find this cute summer bag at an affordable price!

Left: Circle Straw Crossbody Bag from Urban Outfitters retailing for $72.00 CAD.

Other options: you can find a bunch on Etsy, like this vendor here who offers different sizes.

4. THE TIE FRONT BLOUSE

The front tie blouse is great for those summer days with a cool breeze. They look amazing with a high waisted skirt or shorts. MissGuided has a bunch of cute, wallet friendly options you can choose from, like these two below. I haven't tried this trend personally yet, but I hope to get one very soon *coughs Osheaga coughs *

Left: white tie front crop top retailing for $32.00 CAD

Right: tie front blouse rust retailing for $32.00 CAD

If you prefer to buy local from a Canadian company, here is another cute option from Dynamite Clothing: Polka Dot Tie Front Blouse only $34.95 and you could pick it up in store and avoid shipping costs :)

5. THE POLKA DOT DRESS

Last but not least, the polka dot dress. Polka dots are so in right now and the best part? You can get almost everything in a polka dot print. You should definitely be wearing polka dot, its a great pattern that will usually transition well to fall and even winter if styled properly. But for summer, the polka dress is the piece to own! So here are a few of my favourite polka dot summer dresses I've come across on Instagram:

Middle: WRAP FRONT CAMI MAXI DRESS from Dynamite Clothing retailing for $59.95 CAD

Right: COWL NECK SLIP DRESS from Dynamite Clothing retailing for $49.95 CAD

That's all for today guys! I hope these trends inspire you to go out and try a few! If you create an #ootd, tag me in it so I can have a look :)

NOW GO OUT AND ENJOY THE REST OF YOUR SUMMER!!

XOXX
