Hey there!
We've finally made it to part III. This time I take you to Vienna, Austria.
We finally got some sunshine in this city! It was about 15 degrees Celsius (or 59 Fahrenheit for all of my American friends) and finally got to walk around in our t-shirts! We arrived in Vienna on the Saturday. We learned that it is illegal to offer free tours in Vienna. However, the hostel offered some, but not until Tuesday because the Sunday was Easter and then Easter Monday.
We got to walk around the city and take some beautiful pictures, it was very nice. We ended the day by lining up for the Opera at the State Opera House. If you get there early enough, you can buy standing tickets at the door for only €3. We stood in line for 1.5 hours and then continued standing for the show (rough leg day). There were so many people that we could barely see, but hey, we got to see the Opera.
The next day, on Easter, we visited Sissi's castle. It was BEAU-TI-FUL. We also got to see more of downtown Vienna and get some good food, cause hey, it's all about the people you meet and the food you eat ;) Speaking of people you meet, we got to meet up with some friends from Pamplona for dinner and it was great to make new friends!
The next day we took the tram to Grinzing, a little city just outside of Vienna. We found a trail and hiked for a little bit. The views were amazing! (As you will see below hihi) We even got to try the famous Sacher tart and the famous Sacher Hotel (VIP went right in!) We ended our trip to Vienna by going down to the Danube and laying down on the grass. Sometimes you just need to take a break.
I truly enjoyed our visit to Vienna, we stayed at the Wombats Hostel and the stay was great, I truly recommend. My favorite part was definitely the weather and oh, did I mention there were lots of flowers? #FlowerGeek
